How does Dream Mile Color Run/Walk work?
Walkers and runners are all ages and participants can walk as individuals, families, groups, work teams, and more. As the name suggests, there will be lots of colors at this event. Dry colors will be thrown at the Start/Finish line and a few places along the course. Please be prepared to get messy. Volunteers will be there along the route to ensure that walkers/runners stay on course. There will be two water stations at 1-mile mark and route U-turn at 1.55 mile. Participants will be given one packet of colors with packet. Refreshments are available after the walk/run.

Is the color safe?
Colors are organic, Just colored cornstarch. The color comes off easily. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. It’s best to wear items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful. We suggest washing items you wore to run separately from your other laundry.

How long is the Run/Walk?
There is a 5K run/walk and kids 1K run/walk. See below the course map for 5K or 3.1 mile run/walk. This course is a loop that starts and finishes at same place.

Is Dream Mile Color Run timed?
Yes, all 5K and 1K kids runners are chip-timed. We intend this to be a fun activity for serious as well as recreational runners. The timing for The Dream Mile Color Run is provided by a professional firm Its About Time. First three runners in each 5K and 1K category will receive trophies as prizes. Everyone will receive finish medal. However if you do not wish to run, you may still walk the trail at your own pace. We just request the “walkers” to please give way to the runners so they may be able to keep their timing.

Can my kids participate in 5K Run/Walk?
Yes. Given that Vibha’s vision is to provide a brighter future for underprivileged children, it makes perfect sense to get your children involved. However, parental discretion is advised for 5K run/walk.

What should I wear?
Comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses, extra sunscreen, and clothes you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Serious runners wishing to participate in the race should wear their running gear.

Is this Race stroller friendly?
Yes, you can bring your kids in the stroller. However please be mindful of other runners and stay towards the side on the trail. Kids in strollers could have a bib with paid kids registration.

I cannot run. Can I just walk?
Yes, Dream Mile Color Run is walker friendly. We encourage all participants to train in an effort to complete the race within the race end time which is 11 AM. Post 11 AM, you can still complete the race but please do note that our management will not be available on the course to provide further support. If you plan to complete the race post 11 AM, we advise that you make your arrangements to carry sufficient water etc, as on course water stations or any other race facility including first aid etc, won’t be available.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?
The event goes on. If it rains hard and it becomes too difficult to run/walk, the route will be shortened.

Will there be food?
Yes, there will be some light refreshments included with registration and food truck to purchase food.

Can I bring my pets for the race? How about if on a leash?
We are fond of pets but we will not allow them on the trail for the comfort and safety of other runners.

Will photos be taken along the course and at the finish line? How do we receive it?
Yes, photos are taken along the course and at the start and finish line. Link to the pictures will be posted on http://la.dreammile.org under Event Details->Photos after the race.
